Configure the news widget on the home dashboard.
The Home Page settings control the news widget that appears on every member's home dashboard. It surfaces relevant headlines based on the criteria you set.
Location filter
Limit news to a geographic area:
- State — Pick a US state, or No location filter.
- City — Pick a city within the chosen state. Only enabled once a state is selected.
Keyword search
Type the topics you want covered — "technology", "AI regulation", "municipal finance". Up to 500 characters.
Operators are supported:
"exact phrase"for an exact match.AND,OR,NOTfor combining terms.
Example: "public health" AND (vaccine OR immunization) NOT trial
Search in
Where to look for matches:
- All fields — title, description, and content (default).
- Title only
- Description only
- Content only
- Title and description
Narrower fields can cut down on noise.
Domain filters
For source control:
- Include domains — Comma-separated list (e.g.
nytimes.com, reuters.com, techcrunch.com). When set, only these domains appear. - Exclude domains — Comma-separated list. Sources to drop from results.
How members see it
Once configured, the news widget shows the filtered headlines on the home dashboard for every member. Members can't customize it themselves — this is a workspace-wide setting.
Saving
Changes save when you click outside a field. Members see updated results within a few minutes.
