MainBranch

Signing Up

Create your MainBranch account and finish the onboarding wizard.

You can join MainBranch by creating a new workspace or by accepting an invitation to an existing one.

Creating a new workspace

  1. Go to the sign-up page and enter your work email. Personal email providers (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) are not accepted.
  2. Check your inbox for a 6-digit verification code and enter it on the next screen. The code is valid for 10 minutes. You can resend it after a 30-second cool-down.
  3. Enter your full name and create a password. A strength indicator updates as you type.
  4. You'll be taken into the onboarding wizard described below.

You can also sign up with Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft if your organization allows OAuth providers. In that case you skip the password step.

Accepting an invitation

If your admin sent you an invitation:

  1. Click the link in the email. Invitations expire after 7 days.
  2. If you're not signed in, you'll be prompted to sign in or create a new account using the invited email address.
  3. The invitation is accepted automatically once you authenticate.

If your workspace has domain-based auto-join enabled, anyone signing up with your company's email domain becomes a member automatically — no invitation needed.

The onboarding wizard

After your first sign-in, MainBranch walks you through a short setup:

1. Workspace

If you're the first person from your team:

  • Name — A human-readable name like Acme Co.
  • Slug — A URL-friendly identifier auto-generated from the name. You can edit it. Availability is checked in real time.

If you joined via invitation, this step is skipped — you're added to the existing workspace.

2. Department & role

Pick a department (Engineering, Sales, Marketing, etc.) and a role (Senior Engineer, Manager, Individual Contributor, etc.). Both are optional. Selecting them helps the assistant tune what it surfaces about your team.

3. Calendar

Connect a calendar so MainBranch's notetaker can join your meetings:

  • Google Calendar — Authorize MainBranch's read-only access to your calendar.
  • Outlook Calendar — Authorize the same for Microsoft accounts.

You can skip this and connect later from your settings.

4. Meeting settings

If you connected a calendar, you'll see a quick configuration for the notetaker:

  • Notetaker name — How the bot appears in meetings. Default is MainBranch Notetaker.
  • Which meetings to recordAll meetings, When invited, or Organized by me.
  • Who receives email summariesAll participants, Participants from this organization, or Just me.

You can change any of these later. See Setting up the notetaker for the full list.
