Searching and Filtering

Find Vault files by name, type, or date.

The Vault has its own search and filtering bar above the file list. For cross-product search across Vault, chats, and meetings, use Global Search.

Searching by name

Type into the search box at the top of the Vault. Matching files appear in the list in real time. Search is case-insensitive and matches partial words.

If you're inside a folder, search applies to everything within that folder.

Filtering by file type

Click the Format filter to limit results to one or more types:

  • PDFs
  • Documents (Word, Google Docs, etc.)
  • Spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets, CSV, etc.)
  • Presentations
  • Images
  • Text
  • Other

You can combine multiple format selections.

Filtering by date

Click the Date filter and pick a start and end date. Only files uploaded in that range are shown. Useful for "what did I upload last week?".

Sorting

Click any column header in the file list to sort:

  • Name — alphabetical.
  • Type — groups files by category.
  • Size — small to large or large to small.
  • Date — newest first by default.

Click a column header twice to flip the direction.

All filters are additive. "PDFs uploaded in the last 30 days containing 'budget'" is a valid combination. Use Clear filters in the toolbar to start over.

Searching the rest of MainBranch

If you can't find what you're looking for in the Vault, the file may not be there yet (it could be in chat history, in meeting transcripts, or in a connected source). Global Search covers all of these.
