Change your MainBranch password.

Changing your password

From Profile settings → Password:

  1. Enter your current password.
  2. Enter a new password. A strength indicator updates as you type — stronger is better.
  3. Re-enter the new password to confirm.
  4. Save. Your password is updated immediately.

Forgot your password?

Sign out and use the Forgot password? link on the login page. You'll receive a reset link by email; click it within 1 hour to set a new password.

Accounts without a password

If you signed up with Google, Microsoft, or SSO, you may not have a password set. In that case the password tab shows a note:

You signed in with an external provider. Password management is not available for OAuth-only accounts.

You can keep signing in with your provider, or contact your admin to set up email + password as an additional option if your workspace allows it.

Best practices

  • Use a unique password for MainBranch.
  • Pair your password with two-factor authentication for the strongest protection.
  • A password manager makes both of those much easier to maintain.
