Data Visualizer

Data Visualizer helps you create charts, graphs, and diagrams from your data using AI assistance.

Data Visualizer can:

  • Generate charts from data you provide
  • Create various visualization types (bar, line, pie, etc.)
  • Analyze data and suggest appropriate visualizations
  • Export charts for use in presentations and reports

Click Data Visualizer in the App Drawer section of the sidebar.

The quickest way to create visualizations is through the AI Assistant:

"Create a bar chart showing monthly expenses"
"Visualize the budget allocation by department"
"Generate a pie chart of project time distribution"

The AI will generate an appropriate chart based on your request and available data.

  1. Open Data Visualizer

Navigate to Data Visualizer from the App Drawer.

  2. Provide Your Data

    You can provide data by:

    • Typing or pasting data directly
    • Uploading a spreadsheet (CSV, Excel)
    • Referencing data from connected sources
  3. Describe Your Visualization

Describe what you want to visualize:

    • What story should the chart tell?
    • What comparisons should it show?
    • What type of chart would you prefer?
  4. Review and Customize

Review the generated chart and customize as needed:

    • Change chart type
    • Adjust colors and labels
    • Modify titles and legends
  5. Export

Download the chart for use in other applications.

Data Visualizer supports various chart types:

Chart TypeBest For
Bar ChartComparing categories, showing rankings
Line ChartTrends over time, continuous data
Pie ChartPart-to-whole relationships, proportions
Area ChartCumulative trends, volume over time
Scatter PlotRelationships between variables
TableDetailed data presentation

Data Visualizer accepts data in various formats:

  • CSV files — Comma-separated values
  • Excel files — .xlsx and .xls formats
  • Pasted data — Tab or comma-separated text

For best results:

  • Include clear column headers
  • Use consistent data formats (dates, numbers)
  • Clean data of errors and inconsistencies
  • Ensure data is complete (minimal missing values)
  • Add descriptive chart titles
  • Label axes clearly
  • Include units where appropriate
  • Add legends for multiple data series
  • Adjust colors for clarity or branding
  • Ensure sufficient contrast for readability
  • Use consistent styling across related charts
  • Choose appropriate scales
  • Decide on data point labels
  • Configure gridlines and reference lines

Export charts in various formats:

  • PNG — Image format for documents and presentations
  • SVG — Vector format for scalable graphics
  • PDF — Document format for reports

Exported charts can be used in:

  • Double-check calculations and aggregations
  • Check data format compatibility
  • Ensure data has clear headers
  • Verify sufficient data points exist
  • Try a simpler chart type first
  • Review data for errors
  • Specify the chart type explicitly
  • Provide more context about what you want to show
  • Check data types (dates, numbers, text)
