People Data
This guide covers how to manage people data and directory information in Mainbranch.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”People data in Mainbranch includes information about your organization’s members such as:
- Names and contact information
- Department and role
- Reporting structure
- Profile details
This information helps the AI Assistant provide more relevant responses.
Accessing People Data Settings
Section titled “Accessing People Data Settings”- Go to Workspace settings > Setup > People Data
- View and configure directory settings
Data Sources
Section titled “Data Sources”People data can come from:
Connected Services
Section titled “Connected Services”- Google Workspace — Syncs from Google Directory
- Microsoft 365 — Syncs from Microsoft Entra ID
Manual Entry
Section titled “Manual Entry”- Add people manually if not using directory sync
- Update information as needed
What People Data Enables
Section titled “What People Data Enables”With people data configured:
- The AI can answer questions about who works in your organization
- Search can include people and their roles
- Meeting transcripts can identify speakers
- Organization charts can be generated
Managing People
Section titled “Managing People”Viewing People
Section titled “Viewing People”Browse the list of people in your organization with their:
- Name and email
- Department
- Title/Role
- Manager
Editing Information
Section titled “Editing Information”If using manual entry:
- Click on a person’s entry
- Edit their information
- Save changes
Sync Settings
Section titled “Sync Settings”Automatic Sync
Section titled “Automatic Sync”When connected to Google Workspace or Microsoft 365:
- Directory information syncs automatically
- Changes in the source system reflect in Mainbranch
- Sync frequency depends on configuration
Manual Sync
Section titled “Manual Sync”Trigger a manual sync if needed:
- Go to People Data settings
- Click to refresh directory data
- Wait for sync to complete
Privacy Considerations
Section titled “Privacy Considerations”What Is Visible
Section titled “What Is Visible”- Information visible depends on your directory settings
- Users see what they would see in your identity provider
- Sensitive information is not exposed beyond your policies
Data Handling

- Not shared externally
- Follows your data retention policies
